I found this rig a couple of years ago. It had been in a barn since the late 70s. The interior needs some updating but is in nice shape. I think the Cummins will make a really nice addition, with the price of gas and all. It got 7-8mpg with the 400ci/727auto. I hope to get 15-17mpg with the 215hp/5sp. I usually drive about 60. It weighs in at 9500lbs. Once I start turning it up should be a real hotrod as far as motorhomes go. The above photo has been retouched to show a tag axle that I want to install to help with towing. This photo shows rig with no engine.

I have found a 96/215hp and 5sp. This seems to be the best engine for making lots of power.

First things first, I need gauges, EGT & Boost.

I'm doing the 5th gear nut fix while the tranny is out.  (Chrysler instruction sheet)

I am using a 4" exhaust from turbo to 4" BD brake then 5" straight to a turnout in front of the rear wheel. This way I can upgrade to HX40 superturbo without having to buy a new exhaust brake. I also got the optional shifter switch for the e-brake.

I am using motormounts, radiator, intercooler from a 93 ram

I will use the original Dana 70. I think this will hold up. I have ordered the Mag-Hytec cover as per Joe Donally's advise to help it cope. I also ordered an additional temp sender for my B&M tranny temp gauge. I installed a switch to switch between the rear diff, tranny and the 2sp unit.
